This has been the most difficult transition I’ve had to experience in my life so far.
And I’ve had to navigate some pretty tough transitions thus far.
I’m grateful for the challenge it’s helping me become a better man.
I am learning to lead by example.
Find peace amongst the chaos.
Become more intentional with my actions.
And be more present
I’ve had 32 years of my life to prepare for this.
But truth be told nothing could have prepared me for this.
This challenge is nothing like I imagined it to be.
I feel my brain changing.
My concerns rising.
We live in a world that seems to be on fire, sometimes literally.
I’m now the proud father of 2 beautiful girls.
It’s my responsibility to raise strong women.
It’s my responsibility to set the bar as to what they should come to expect from others as well as their partner.
They will watch me be a man and a partner to my girlfriend.
I will have to show them how to lead and bring value to this world.
These things keep me up at night.
These thoughts race through my mind throughout the day.
I know men that have run away from these responsibilities and I’ve also seen men perform at a low level just to watch as their daughters suffer as they grow.
I’m using this as fuel.
I’m using the sense of responsibility to light the way.
I know the man that I want to become and I also know the man that I need to be.
I envision him daily and I do my best to follow that lead.
Sharing this journey is important to me because I know I am not the only one.
I know that there are men, fathers, husbands, entrepreneurs, and students that either want to be or already are in the same position that I’m in today.
Father of 2, entrepreneur, and athlete.
Right now it may feel impossible to grasp this feat, but I know it is for me.
How am I going to show up fully for my daughters?
How am I going to show up fully for my business and clients?
How am I going to show up fully for my training?
To be honest I don’t know.
I am taking it one day at a time.
By becoming better by 1% each day.
Learning to be the man that I need to be.
I am just a normal guy.
But I believe I can make this dream come true.
I believe I can because others have done it too.
You can too.
You just have to believe that you can.
Then you have to take action, imperfect action every day.
Put in the reps and become the person that you need to be to accomplish your goals.
Overcome your limiting beliefs and rise to the challenges that come in front of you.
Choose to fight for the life you want.
Choose to be stronger than the voice in your head telling you to quit.
You can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
Take action, get it done!
