I usually keep this type of writing to myself but today I choose to share it here.
I know I’m not the only one trying to balance business, family, and health/fitness.
5 weeks ago I introduced my daughter to this world.
It was another memorable moment in my life that I will forever hold dear to my heart.
It’s officially been a year and a half since I last stepped on the platform.
Between building a family, managing multiple businesses, and moving, I’ve definitely had my hands full.
But this year is the year of new beginnings. New home, new businesses, new family members.
This first quarter has been full of growth.
It doesn’t always feel like it though.
Especially this morning, even tho I woke up at 5:30 am, I still ended up sleeping in.
I started my workout with a negative mindset. Grumpy and groggy.
Then I was reminded why I love practicing a sport like powerlifting.
It’s my medicine. It turns my frown upside down.
Just as I reached my top set my brain was hit with all the good endorphins and I instantly started to look at things from a different perspective.
I suddenly reminded myself to be grateful to still have my strength even though it doesn't compare to the strength I once had.
I started to think about stepping onto the platform in front of hundreds of people and hitting my all-time PRs.
I started to picture my family in the audience and my girls watching Dad lift weights.
My subconscious reminded me that I want to share my love for strength training with my family.
It doesn't matter if I only get to train for 30 mins or 3 hours, I am grateful for any opportunity I get to be able to show up and move some weight.
It’s so easy to get lost in the business of the day-to-day.
It’s these reminders that keep me centered and help me become a better man.
The platform is calling me, and today I answered. See you soon.
The training video is on my TikTok if you’d like to see my first squat session of the block.
